Sports massage is a deep tissue (more pressure may be applied) therapy that works towards improving blood flow to your muscles and joints, reducing muscle tone and aiding vascular and lymphatic drainage.
"I'm not a 'sports person', can I still have it?"
Absolutely! Life creates the same kind of damage and injury that may be seen in a lot of high level athletes. Anyone currently in pain or who has incurred an injury (it does not need to be through sport), may benefit from what sports therapy treatments offer.
Treatments call on a combination of soft tissue massage, fascial work, trigger point therapy and manual therapy (joint/spinal mobilisations), as well as Kinesiology taping, medical acupuncture and scar work when clinically appropriate.
